Illegal Drug Smuggle

A group of people who smuggled a large amount of ketamine, known as so-called "club drugs," was put on trial.

The Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office arrested and indicted seven smuggling organizations, including Mr. A, the general manager and fund manager.

The group is suspected of smuggling about 10 kilograms of ketamine into Korea six times between January last year and January this year.

Based on 0.05g of one dose, about 200,000 people can take it, with a retail price of 2.5 billion won.

They also coaxed men in their 20s to use them as a transport, saying they would pay 5 million to 10 million won per time.

The carriers were arrested at the airport's arrival hall for trying to avoid crackdowns by putting ketamine wrapped in plastic wrap in their underwear and wearing several layers of clothes.

Ketamine is a type of medical or animal anesthetic, which is cheaper and easier to administer than methamphetamine or cocaine, and is rapidly spreading to young people.

In the past, it was known to have been abused for sex crimes at Club Burning Sun, and it was nicknamed "Club Drug" and "Burning Sun Drug."
