Utilizing AI to Solve Medical Problems

Naver mentioned the need to provide telemedicine services for the elderly in islands and mountainous areas where medical access is low. This is because the ethical use of artificial intelligence (AI) to reduce medical inequality is emerging as a global issue.

Cha Dong-Cheol, director of the Center for Medical Innovation at Naver Healthcare Institute, said at the "2023 Hospital Management and Medical Policy Direction Training" held at the Mary Hall of Catholic University: rather than focusing on tools, it means that we should focus on the essence of patient care and look at telemedicine.

Cha said, "We define good health outcomes and agreements are being reached in that direction. Telemedicine will save time in large areas like the U.S. and Korea will be able to receive support if this concept is introduced in mountainous islands."

In fact, Naver also confirmed the welfare and medical effects of single-person households during COVID-19 through Clova AI Call based on Clova Note.

Clover AI Call is a service that automatically calls 100 elderly people living alone every other week in 2021 and records their contents. You can periodically manage your daily health conditions such as basic diet, exercise, and sleep.

Recently, a memory function that allows you to remember and talk to previous conversations has been added and upgraded. Ninety-five percent of the 100 elderly people living alone have been using it since November 2021. In other words, the problem of medical inequality can be solved by using AI technology.

Naver mentioned the need to provide medical services to residents of islands and mountainous areas with poor accessibility by utilizing AI and IT technologies.

Cha said, "There are elderly people who don't have access to medical care. He followed, "I decided to go to Seosan Medical Center twice to take care of patients living on the island, but I couldn't go to both times because of the bad sea mail. I think there should be a channel where I can do telemedicine or at least telemedicine."

Furthermore, Naver is paying attention to solving the shortage of medical personnel in the medical field. It is the development of solutions that directly help improve the working environment of medical institutions by utilizing digital technology based on AI.

Cha introduced "Voice EMR," "Smart Survey," and "Automatic Record of Obligations," a healthcare solution developed with Naver AI technology team CLOVA.

Smart Survey is an electronic EMR service that automatically converts clover programs into medical terms used by doctors when patients fill out questionnaires about symptoms before treatment. It has the advantage of drastically reducing the number of unskilled labor required to copy the survey records prepared by existing patients to EMR.

Voice EMR is a program that uses technology to convert voice into text, and converts patient records recorded by nurses on shifts into text. Recently, it has developed an automatic recording solution that can convert medical records between doctors and patients into mandatory records.

Naver Healthcare Laboratory has developed an automatic recording solution that can convert medical records between doctors and patients into compulsory records.

Cha said, "In the case of voice EMR, we can prevent 'burn' that can occur in the process of talking directly to nurses when they take over. What the underwriter said was ignited in the form of a cades and automatically raised to EMR."

Cha said, "There is a clover note program, and we have created an API to separate the speakers between doctors and patients so that they can be copied and put on EMR. The direction of Naver Healthcare Institute is to help chat and practice through solution development."

Cha said, "There is a way to help with the diagnosis, but I want to help someone do what they have to do administratively right now. I hope that the pediatric and youth departments, which lack the most human resources, can help with the lack of human resources.
