Winter is especially severe for patients suffering from sinusitis. This is because cold weather worsens symptoms such as runny nose and stuffy nose, as well as dry air irritates mucous membranes in the nose, making breathing, which is already inconvenient, even more uncomfortable.
The official name of the nasal disease, often referred to as sinusitis, is sinusitis. Typical symptoms are nasal congestion and runny nose, which are similar to those of nasal cold and rhinitis in the early stages.
This is characterized by chronic runny nose and nasal congestion lasting for a long time. At this time, excessive runny nose blocks the inside of the nose where air comes in and out, or if the runny nose flows behind the neck, it is difficult to breathe through the nose, making it difficult to breathe every time you breathe, causing inconvenience in your daily life.
Headaches, poor concentration, bad breath, and learning disabilities are among the common symptoms of sinusitis. In the worst case scenario, symptoms may worsen due to otitis media, suborbital periosteum pesticides, and brain abscesses, and treatment and management are required at an appropriate time.
In particular, special attention should be paid to children whose noses are still immature. This is because sinusitis can continue, causing abnormal growth of the structure in the nasal cavity or deform the face shape while breathing through the mouth.
There are two main causes of sinusitis. First of all, patients are born allergic. House dust mites and pollen are typical allergens that cause nasal diseases. Repeated exposure to such allergy-inducing substances causes blisters in the mucous membrane of the nose, which blocks the entrance of the sinus and causes chronic sinusitis if it is thick.
The second is when there is a structural problem inside the nose. If you look inside our noses, there is cartilage called non-septal in middle-aged children. It acts like a pillar that holds the center of the nose, but if the cartilage is bent, the inside of one nose becomes narrower. Consequently, when the inlet part of the sinus is blocked, sinusitis also occurs.
In the case of sinusitis caused by allergies, medication such as antihistamine and anti-inflammatory drugs can improve the symptoms. It also helps to relieve symptoms by moistening the inside of the nose with saline and warm water vapor, which can cause nasal congestion.
